      Senior Project Engineer 7 + years of experience – (Permanent position Starting Salary up to $100,000) or (Contract position $35 - $45 per hr) Depending on Experience :
      Our client is a manufacturing company servicing the aerospace industry and is headquartered in Hauppauge, NY.
      • Should have valve design experience (7+ yrs)
      • Aerospace industry experience desired
      • Must have a Mechanical Engineering background
      • Mechanical Engineering degree
      • Primary focus: valve design experience / pneumatics experience
      • Highly creative Engineer - Manufacturing design experience
      • Must understand the designing of machinery (or ideally worked with valves)
      • This person will likely come from an industrial manufacturing environment(s) that dealt with machining, valves, etc.
      • Solenoid design experience is a plus
      • Provide detail design and drafting support for project teams
      • Perform drawing checking including tolerance stack up analysis
      • Provide companywide CADD administrative and maintenance tasks
      • Provide fixture and tooling design support for engineering testing
      • Provide coordination for outsourcing engineering workload


      • Is measured for group design project completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
      • Is measured for group ability for multi-tasking and prioritization
      • Effectiveness of materials, hardware, software, engineering process, and resources in meeting design intent, department needs and customer requirements
      Core Competencies:
      • Thorough knowledge of aerospace industry accepted design, analysis, validation techniques, and methodologies
      • Thorough understanding of hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical controls such as actuators, manual, solenoid operated and motorized valves
      • Must have effective communication, organization, problem solving, interpersonal and team building skills and able to manage multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment
      • Must have strong math, analytical, statistics, and computer skills (MS Office, MS Project, CAD CATIA V5, NASTRAN, and EASY 5)
      • Must be able to perform basic mechanical analyses such as stress, heat transfer, and dynamics using conventional hand calculations and FEA software
      • Must have experience working in a Lean environment and is capable to lead and complete process improvement projects.

      • Approximately 20% travel required.
      • Physical and Environmental Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
      • Work environment includes front-office and manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
