      Title: Senior Thermal Engineer - Salary to $110k - Indianapolis, IN - send resume to [email protected]

      Role: Develop thermal management system designs for a wide range of battery system products and applications in the Utility, Transportation, and industrial OEM sectors. Support Operations and Sales as the thermal management systems expert in developing quotes to meet customer needs and in meetings with customers. This position requires excellent technical analysis and documentation skills, the ability to communicate effectively in cross-functional teams, and the ability to interface effectively with customers to ensure that system requirements are realized in the final product.

      Responsibilities: Responsibilities for this position include the following:

      • Analyze thermal characteristics of battery cells and battery system components using both physical testing and analytical methods
      • Use FEA and CFD tools to perform thermal analyses of battery systems
      • Define and participate in physical testing designed to correlate math model results to physical test results
      • Write detailed engineering reports
      • Develop thermal management system designs for battery systems
      • Engineer thermal management designs and solutions which achieve functional, quality, & cost objectives.
      • Select components for implementation of thermal management system designs
      • Manage external resources to supplement internal thermal engineering efforts when needed by performing the following:
      o Write Statements of Work
      o Identify qualified suppliers
      o Evaluate proposals
      o Oversee the work
      o Evaluate deliverables

      Training and Skills: To perform in this position successfully, an individual must have:

      • BSME or MSME + 5 years Thermal Engineering experience in a military, automotive, industrial OEM, or other complex system product development environment
      • High level of experience and skill using FEA and CFD tools for analysis of heat transfer problems
      • High level of experience and skill at writing detailed technical reports
      • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to develop thermal management solutions for products
      • Broad knowledge and experience evaluating thermal management system design alternatives
      • Broad knowledge and experience selecting components for thermal management systems
      • High level of skills in providing technical support for Marketing and Sales
      • Ability to work independently
      • Experience with thermal management of battery systems is a plus.

      Requirements: To perform in this position successfully, an individual be able to:

      • Light work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
      • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
      • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
      • Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
