Global leader in renewable energy solutions, expanding due to growth, seeks to add 3 intermediate to senior-level Mechanical Designers to their team. Overview:The designer shall provide assistance in the detailed design of packaged/skid mounted chilled/hot water systems for a growing, dynamic corporation. Level II Designers transform initial rough product application designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. The Designer’s primary responsibility is the production of the following professional quality drafting deliverables: piping isometrics, mechanical layouts, piping spool drawings, structural drawings, and overall general arrangements. Level II Designer must be excellent at detailing drawings. This position supports the Engineering department, as well as other departments (ex. Manufacturing), by helping to maintain the drafting schedule and ensuring accuracy and integrity of work. Responsibilities: Interpret piping and instrument diagrams, piping plan drawings, process flow diagrams, piping specifications, bills of materials, and GA drawings as it applies to packaged system design. Produce design/modify piping/skid designs based on information received from customers while ensuring compliance with all codes and recognized standards. Build and maintain effective working relationships with other designers and departments. Superior drawing detailing skills a must. Maintain drafting production schedule of different types of drawings along with ensuring accuracy of deliverables. Any other responsibility as assigned by company. Qualifications:JOB SKILLS: Technical understanding of piping materials, components, valves, etc. Familiar with the codes and standards of ASME, ASTM, AWS D 1.1, API, and ANSI. Be a self-starter/self-motivated, detail oriented and a good communicator both written and oral. Contribute to methods of improving work processes. Learn and understand the effect of changes and notify key groups and contacts to resolve change issues. RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years experience with detailed piping design and engineering for oil and gas refining, petrochemical plant, or pre-packaged industrial products related to heat transfer or fluid transfer Experience with Solid Works is a must!! AutoCAD and Microsoft office suite experience. Experience in HVAC is a plus. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Associates Degree in Drafting/Design is preferred, although direct industry experience can substitute. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Position is at least 80 % to 95% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.
