hv to design a support for a horizontal milling cutter spindle......the spindle will be loaded inside a hollow cylinder which will be supported by bearings. There will be a tight fit between the spindle and cylinder .For design of the cylinder should i use hollow shaft consideration or perhaps design considering it as some kind of a stepped shaft

depend on the contact area of the tight fit between the spindle and cylinder, if it is very long, the hollow tight fit region between cylinder and the shaft will make installation and dismantle works more time consuming. if we can use under cut concept plus stepped shaft design to reduce the contact area of tight fit region, then will make installation and dismantle workmore easy .
