      Position Description/Skills Required:

      Job Function:

      Oversee and manage the day-to-day design activities for all Company vehicular products.
      Maintain drawing/model databank, drawing library, and revision modifications.
      Utilize both 2d and 3d CAD systems
      Oversee special projects (as needed)

      Disciplines and Accountabilities:

      Research and review of OEM vehicles with other related functions, for the application of new products, to include: assemblies and overhead bracket designs, etc.
      Design and creation of all applicable parts drawings for the system. To include, but not limited to:
      Complete assembly drawings
      Brackets
      Foam (including math models (solid and surface models) from raw data created by digitizing or from customer math data Injected or vacuum formed plastics, stampings, and basic PCB/Electrical layout on core products.
      Wire harness drawings and diagrams (in 2d)
      Assist or lead manufacturing with the creation of feasibility studies and any drafting related tasks.
      Support in the creation of install instructions for product systems, if design work is not available.
      Maintain drawing revisions and component level changes.
      Coordination of part designs with all suppliers, when necessary.
      Lead in coordination and interpretation of all testing requirements for the system/part.
      Interfaces with various departments, including sales, quality and manufacturing, to ensure part and design is meeting all required internal and external requirements.
      Assist or lead program management duties for the project (as required)

      Competency Requirements:

      Problem Solving and Know-How:
      Education: Minimum of 5 years of related experience in design or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Two year or four year degree desirable in mechanical design.
      Demonstrated ability to work successfully in team situations requiring capability to develop and implement initiatives across departments.

      Attributes and Skills:
      Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional, team oriented environment.
      Ability to perform accountabilities in a competent, professional and customer oriented manner.
      Ability to lead, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under stress.
      Ability to assess priorities in a complex and demanding environment with a minimum of supervision while displaying strong self-motivation.
      Must be able to demonstrate the following attributes: Adaptability, flexibility, excellent organization skills, multitasking, and possess strong analytical and excellent communication skills.
      Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
      Must have the ability to travel as required by the position – domestic and international.



      Software knowledge:
      Strong degree of software knowledge – both generic and position specific.Microsoft Office Products – Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and ProjectDesign Software: Solidworks (Must), and/or Mechanical Desktop R5/Autocad 2000

      Additional Experience:

      2D and 3D Design with Surfacing and Solid modeling
      Knowledge of prototyping requirements
