      Position Title: Senior Project Engineer

      Location: Northern, NJ

      Our global manufacturing client is recognized around the world for its diverse portfolio of consumer and personal products.

      Primary Purpose of this position:

      To manage the development, qualification and maintenance of schedules on assigned projects of low-to-medium complexity for ICPG products.

      Engineer and manage the development and qualification of projects with medium-to-high complexity while maintaining performance and scheduled dates.

      Communicate product and schedule information on a timely and regular basis.

      Ensure that product designs maximize reliability and safety at the least possible cost.

      Prepare and initiate design reviews and FMEA’s on assigned projects.

      Guide discussion during product team meetings.

      Experience/Education Required:

      Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree.

      Design experience of 7 years minimum, ideally within a consumer products environment.

      Familiarity with technical tools such as DOE, FMEA, Reliability Engineering, DFA, DFM, and Kaizen a plus.

      Familiar with various manufacturing processes and mold types (e.g., injection molding, blow molding, assembly methods, decoration methods, etc).

      Must be able to communicate product designs utilizing 3-D CAD software, sketches and verbal direction. Proficiency in Pro-Engineer preferred.

      Knowledge of plastic materials and part design requirements and standards.

      Knowledge of test methods and procedures to ensure that products meet reliability and safety requirements.

      Skills and Abilities Required:

      Ability to engineer medium-to-high complexity assemblies, mechanisms and plastic part configurations.

      Good aesthetic design skills.

      Ability to evaluate designs to ensure proper design and molding standards are followed.

      Ability to develop innovative solutions for new product ideas.

      Knowledgeable of good drafting / drawing layout practices.

      Ability to manage third party relationships (e.g., outside design consultants, inventors, suppliers, etc.)

      Intermediate computer skills, including Word and Excel. Will be required to type reports and enter data into a desktop computer.

      Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interface with internal and external contacts at all levels. Ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information via verbal presentations and in writing.

      Excellent organizational, prioritizing and follow up skills.

      Ability to handle multiple tasks / projects simultaneously.

      Ability to think and act independently and make sound decisions.

      Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time.

      Good analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Ability to resolve technical problems with moderate supervision.

      The position will also require travel domestically and internationally as required on assigned projects to other locations, vendors, and manufacturers.
