So if a company is making a car and you have appropriate design constraints and loads, you might get paid up to a 1000-2000 USD for designing a rim. Because it might be a months work and that is what companies here in Poland would be paying for one months work.

But if its just freelance work it would be like 250 USD or so.

But if you have an innovative design and you patent it, its upto you for how much you want to sell it. Ofcourse the company that will buy from you they wont pay you as you like. But it depends on the level of innovation, material used, load carrying capabilities and manufacturability.

These answers are assuming you are an industrial designer, and all you do is design a rim. Don’t run any analysis or any such engineering report work.

It really depends on exactly what you need. If it's literally just a concept design then it could be $50!
For an actual, fully engineered solution I can't imagine it's that much more work - maybe five hours? So it all depends on who you hire and what their rate is.
