      Thanks for looking!

Our toy involves a ball and a target.

We want to enable the target to log a score when contacted by the ball.

However, our problem is that the target must only log a score when contacted by the ball. A score should not be logged if only a foot or other body part contacts the target.

The target is a three dimensional surface. The target is not a "pass-through target" ie net, hoop, hole. Target is not tethered. Cameras are not an option. The solution could include a a custom ball or a skin that fits over a ball.

      Thanks again!

How about the same technology that door access key fobs use? Not sure if RFIDs are accurate enough for your application, but it might be good enough.
