I have SW 2016, but don't have SW electrical, and I need to simulate a wire going from the back of a button to the computer board. Buying SW electrical isn't in the budget right now so I just need a way to figure out how to draw, and route a line from two points in a model, and be able to measure that lines length. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the simplest way is to make a sweep using splines. I'm pretty sure that if you click on a spline, it gives you the length. If not, you can use curves (that not only give length, can have their lengths displayed or modified as a dimension, plus are easy to calculate).

If you want to use splines, but you can't measure length, for some reason. You can get the volume of the solid with the measure tool, and divide by cross-sectional area.

Thanks for the help that worked great, but my next problem is that the model wont let me turn on/off sketches, or anything else for that matter.
